We started day two out by playing at the water park at Carowinds. It's called Boomerang Bay, and, for obvious reasons, we did not have our cameras while we were in the water.
After we played on the slides and the wave pools, though, we went back into the amusement park and the kids caught the rides they didn't have a chance to on Thursday...and took a second, (and in some instances, third) shot at some of their favorites.
While Maya and Trevor had fun on the thrill rides, Steven and I took turns playing with Scott. I got another opportunity to use my 'evil' face on the bumper cars,
and play on some big swings. This ride was called the Yo Yo.
Mylee and Trev scored another front row seat on the Afterburn,
and Steven took another spin on the Arial Chase, (in the second car) with Scooter.
They played about nine hours on Thursday and another six on Friday. They were a bit tired when it was all said and done.
Did we like Carowinds? Oh, yeah!
On Saturday morning, Maya, Scott and Trevor took a dip in the motel pool before we went and had some breakfast.
We stayed in a Motel 6 so we knew that it was hit or miss. Some rooms we've stayed in were great...others, well, not so much. This motel was really good and the kids thought the pool was pretty cool, too.
After everyone was dried off and dressed, we hit the IHOP before getting back on the highway and heading back to Cary.
Trevor and his family were in the process of moving...fortunately for us, they only relocated about ten or fifteen minutes away. When we got home, his mom and dad were wrapping up the moving process and took Trevor to their new home. We were happy to have him with us on this trip...to celebrate the almost 2 1/2 years we've shared a neighborhood with Trevor, and this time of close friendship all three kids have shared. Of course Trevor will still be a huge part of our lives, but we will miss seeing him on an every day basis.
Carowinds was awesome...and the kids are already talking about our next amusement park adventure.
