Adventure Landing

Today, the kids and I took GG to Adventure Landing...a pretty cool arcade with laser tag, mini golf and go karts in Raleigh. The kids like to race each other on the motorcycles.

Of course, any racing game is a huge hit,

and Scott loves the shooting games. Here he his killing himself some aliens. Those dudes are ugly.

This is a virtual ride. They had about six to choose from and they picked a pinball simulation.

The ride made them feel as though they were the pinball going through a very wild, very fast paced game. It shook them, bumped them up and down, tilted them and made loud, obnoxious noises in their ears. As you can see from the picture above, they thought this was pretty awesome.

Mylee and Scott also played about three games of air hockey together. After that they went in and played some laser tag. Maya said Scott was really easy to spot because his shorts and shoes glowed in the black light. He'll have to remember to wear darker clothes next time, but he did just fine for himself and came out doing a fist pump. He'd gotten some good shots in, too.

Scott has always been too short to drive his own go kart, but he's had a growth spurt since we were here last and was deemed tall enough by the rule makers. He climbed into the driver's seat and took off on his own for the first time.

Mylee Bug. This was not her first time behind the wheel. She's a pro.

We lucked out because Wake County public schools don't let out for the summer for another nine days and the kids had the track all to themselves...at least this first time around. The second time around, there were two other people on the track. One of them wasn't very nice, but the kids had fun despite him. Grown ups. Sometimes they can be the most childish people of them all.

Scotty did really well. He kept up with Maya and had a great time.

We went back inside where it was cool...the temp hit 97 today, so it was just a tad bit warm. We had to go under this hungry looking fella to get there...but we made it okay.

The kids' first attempt at Guitar Hero was not the most successful...but now they have something else to add to their Christmas list. 

We played at Adventure Landing for a little more than two hours, and it was fun being there without any crowds. I don't know about the kids, but I was worn out by the time our day wound down. GG, however, has more energy than all of us. Maybe she should have shot herself some aliens and tired herself out, huh? :)
