Where do polar bears live?

In North Carolina!

 

It started sleeting last night.

We could hear the ice ping against the windows

and the temp dropped down to the low 20's.

When we woke up, it was a frosty, cold world outside

covered completely in ice.

Our cul-de-sac was magically transformed into an ice rink,

(and we watched several of our neighbors as they

attempted to impersonate some world class figure skaters.

As far as I know, no bones were broken...

but it looked like there were a few close calls.)

Our neighbors had some pretty slick driveways.

Everything was coated...the black top, cement, grass, bushes...

and everything was slippery.

 Here's our driveway. Yikes.

This is to the side of the driveway.

Scott slid on his tail end,

(no sled required,)

and wound up on the grass.

Which would have been fine 

had it not been covered in ice.

It took him a good long while to get back up again.

Eskimo's One and Two.

Maya chose not to slide down the driveway on her bottom
and went to fetch the tubes instead.

She wiped out

but she tried again

and again

and again. :)

Scotty,

who was down with a fever yesterday morning,

made a miraculous recovery to go out and play today.

I'm hoping my judgement won't cause a relapse.

It's supposed to fall below 17 tonight,

but by Sunday, we'll be celebrating in a relative heat wave

of about 49 degrees.

New England is supposed to be hit yet again

with some record breaking snows.

I'm hoping Washington, D.C. stays in the clear.

I wanna go on our trip come this weekend.
