Father's Day on the Outer Banks

On Father's Day this year, we chose to go on a very long,
(and the kids will attest to this)
road trip to the Outer Banks.

We saw Roanoke Island and Nags Head for the first time
and visited the Bodie Island lighthouse.

I LOVED this trip!

After the Bodie lighthouse,
we saw the Cape Hatteras lighthouse.
This is the one I've been wanting to see...

...and I wasn't disappointed.
We called Dad and Larrabee while we were in the car
looking at this awesome lighthouse.

It was very hot and the thought of being in a very tall,
very narrow tube with a whole bunch of other people
didn't sound all that tempting to any of us.

We decided that later on in the fall,
we'd come back to see Hatteras again
and climb it then.

Super Wings!
This is North Carolina's version of Florida's
Ron Jon Surf Shop.
We didn't go in to this store...
but we ate at the Subway right next to it. :)

We saw this gorgeous sunset on our way home.
It was a beautiful way to end
a very fun day.
We all love Steven very, very much.
It was a wonderful Father's Day!
