May is nearly over....

This has been a very full, very exciting month for us
at the Wing household!

After Deb and Emily left, we only had eight more days of school
to finish before we wrapped up Maya's fourth grade year
and Scotty's first grade year.

The kids did so well in school! The beginning of the year
was a bit rough...we missed almost six weeks in
January and February because of the move,
but they buckled down and worked really hard from mid-February
until mid-May and finished both of their curriculums. Yay!

On May 17th, my parents arrived in Cary for an eight day visit.
They set up camp at Jordan Lake and we hung out in their camper
throughout the week...
eating really yummy food and enjoying the view of the water.

We also hung out a lot at our home and did tons of other
really fun stuff while they were here.

We went to a Durham Bulls game. They won 10 - 1!

The temp was cool but the sky was blue. Great day for a game!

We visited the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro....

...played with some elephants,

ate ice cream

and took lots and lots and lots of pictures. :)

We played at the swim beach at Jordan Lake

and went to a water park at a spring fed lake in Raleigh
called Spring Lake.
The big slide, "The Beast" conquered us all.

Scott had a blast on the bumper boats, too.

We ate at The Pitt, a BBQ restaurant in downtown Raleigh
and tried out the east Carolina bbq sauce. (I really liked it...everyone else
thought the traditional molasses based sauce was the still the best.)

It was sad to say good-bye...

but it was an awesome visit.

GG and Larrabee on their way back home.
